Blunt was founded by Ian Field in 1991, and went to market with their first designs in 1992.  Blunt was heavily influenced by the UK mod scene of earlier years.  Pairing that influence with the influences from other fellow streetwear producers of the 1990s proved to be a massive hit.  They were a unique brand that had their own specific identity by fit in seemlessly with the other brands of the era.

While most first generation streetwear brands focused on t-shirt designs and added cut and sew in later years, once they were successful, Blunt was a cut and sew monster out of the gate, mixing high fashion mod looks with the comfort, cost and sensibility of streetwear.

Blunt was also one of the first brands to tackle political topics such as police brutality, which should be recognized and commended.
